On September 13, 2018, the Commendation Conference of the 10th China Charity Award by the Ministry of Civil Affairs was held in the Great Hall of the People.
“Brightness Action” Social Public Welfare Activity, namely “Lao Niu Treatment Program for Poverty-stricken Cataract Patients” jointly implemented by Lao Niu Foundation, Inner Mongolia Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Program and Red Cross Society, won “The Most Influential Program” of the 10th China Charity Award. Lei Yongsheng, Director General of our Foundation, and Yang Chunyu, responsible person of the program, attended the commendation conference as representatives of the organizing committee of “Brightness Action” Program.

This is the fourth time public welfare programs from Lao Niu Foundation won this award after Mr. Niu Gensheng, the Founder and Honorary President of our Foundation, won the “Most Loving Individual Donor” on the 6th China Charity Award in 2011, Inner Mongolia Shengle International Eco Zone Project won “the Most Influential Program” on the 8th China Charity Award in 2013, and China National Children’s Center Lao Niu Children’s Discovery Museum won the “Nomination Award” on the 9th China Charity Award in 2016.
From 2015 to 2017, our Foundation conducted “Brightness Action” Social Public Welfare Activity for the Whole Region in cooperation with Inner Mongolia Society for Promotion of the Guangcai Program and Red Cross Society, which was an extension of Lao Niu “Able to See” Program. The program has cumulatively screen patients with eye diseases for nearly 360,000 person times and successively performed sight regaining surgery for 15,840 poverty-stricken cataract patients with 100% success rate.
In the next three years (2018-2020), the Program will also bring light to 10000 poverty-stricken cataract patients in the area and carry out “Eye Protection Action” to care for the eye health of adolescents, screen eye diseases among millions of adolescents, get glasses for 5000 adolescents and children with true myopia from poverty-stricken families, implement free correction surgery for 1000 adolescents and children with strabismus from poverty-stricken families, and take the lead in achieving full coverage of eye protection action for adolescents in national-level and district-level banners and counties.
