On December 21, Lei Yongsheng, Director General of our Foundation, accepted the special invitation from Chengdu Charity Federation and attended “Chengdu Philanthropy Business Training”, sponsored by Chengdu Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau and co-sponsored by Chengdu Social Welfare and Philanthropy Development Center and Chengdu Charity Federation, with Peng Jianmei, Executive Secretary General of China Charity Alliance to conduct one-day training for over 100 philanthropic workers from the system of charity societies in various districts and counties in Chengdu.
The training was chaired by Li Zhongqiang, Director of Chengdu Social Welfare and Philanthropy Development Center and Secretary General of Chengdu Charity Federation, and attended by Zhang Jun, member of the Party group and Deputy Director of Chengdu Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau, and Sun Zhongming, Section Chief of the Social Welfare and Philanthropy Promotion Division.
In the morning, Secretary General Peng shared on the theme “building good philanthropic ecology”. In the afternoon, Director General Lei elaborated the importance of “the popularization of philanthropic culture and identification of concept” and his “understanding and experience of philanthropy” with the title “Experience of Philanthropic Culture and Practice” and in combination with his personal experience and cases happened around him. He emphasized that “the popularization and improvement of philanthropic culture and concept” are of great importance; philanthropy must have both “saying/doing”!
On the 22nd, Director General Lei attended “the 4th Chengdu Philanthropy Exchange Meeting” with the theme “Build Philanthropic Community Together and Share Beautiful Life”, and shared on the theme together with Yang Tuan, Deputy Director and researcher of Center for Public Policy Research, Chinese Academy of Social Science, Dou Ruigang, Executive Secretary General of Tencent Charity Foundation, Wu Wenyuan, General Manager of Shenzhen APECLAND Design, Senior Planner, convener of Low Impact Development’s Research and Action Group in China, Li Zhongqiang, Director of Chengdu Social Welfare and Philanthropy Development Center and Secretary General of Chengdu Charity Federation, and other guests.
Centering on the theme “from family philanthropy to full participation in philanthropy” and in combination with the working practice of Lao Niu Foundation, Director General Lei talked about the characteristics, advantages, necessity and feasibility of family foundation and elaborated his consistent viewpoint: “let those who get rich first participate in philanthropy first”; “family philanthropy” works from point to area and promote “full participation in philanthropy”.
